Guided forest Walks / Hiking in Bwindi Forest National Park : There are six main hiking trails in the Buhoma region of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and as you make your way through the impenetrable forest, you’ll have excellent opportunities to see a wide variety of primates, butterflies, trees, and birds. You’ll have a tour guide to show you through the park and explain the natural processes you’ll encounter on your way through the woodland trails. Inquire about adding a stroll or nature walk to your Uganda Gorilla Tours. The following six paths allow visitors to explore the dense forest:

Muyanga waterfall trail.

Starting from Buhoma, hikers follow the River Ivi-Nkuringo trail to a vantage point from which they may observe the 33-meter drop of the waterfall. It’s a path that ends in three breathtaking waterfalls, and along the way, you’ll view tree ferns, orchids, and epithetic ferns, and breathe in the sweet scent of butterflies. You can hear birds singing as you go down the trail, and you could even see some monkeys.

Hike up to Rushura Hill.

This is a well-known route that tourists take to get a feel for the dense forest. On a clear day, you may see Lakes Edward and George and the Rwenzori Mountains from this trail, which travels through a forest that is jointly owned by Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The soaring Virunga Volcanoes will also be in sight.

Muzubijiro Loop Trail.

This path leads you on a six-kilometer diversion around a hill. Along this path, you’ll get the chance to see gorgeous birds in the air and perched on the trees, as well as a variety of primate species. There are also a tonne of prehistoric tree ferns growing there. We think you won’t want to miss the Virungas, and the trail’s peak would make a great spot for a picnic safari.

Buhoma-Nkuringo Trail.

Another worthwhile path in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, this one will take you 3-4 hours to complete. This path travels between two settlements, separated by a National Park. After path will reward you with lovely views of the foggy hillsides as you make your way up to Nkuringo. If customers don’t want to schlep their bags across the bridge, their drivers can wait for them on the other side with everything they need. You can also walk this path as a segment of the Ivi River Trail.

Buhoma-Nkuringo Trail

The Ivi River walk.

This route is around a seven-hour walk over a distance of 14 km. Mukempenu, literally “a place for pigs,” is a well-known landmark along this path. This is due to the fact that wild pigs tend to congregate there.

The Habinyanja Trail/ Railegh trail.

After crossing the Munyaga River, you’ll begin your ascent up the steep slopes of the Habigorogoro and Riyovi ridges, and from the summit of these mountains, you’ll have a great view of the Buhoma River and the end of your 4-6 hour forest walk safari. Still, as you make your way higher, you’ll appreciate a more leisurely mild slope to the renowned Hbimanya wetland, where you may see stunning species like the Pel’s Fishing owl, African black duck, and Black Bee eaters, among many more.
