In Rwanda, mountain gorillas are only trekked and found in Volcanoes national park found in the far northwest of Rwanda in Kinigi – Ruhengeri.

Day 1: Visit the Genocide memorial site & City Tour
Have early breakfast at your hotel in Kigali – capital city of Rwanda, you will be picked up by your safari driver – guide of Explore Eco Safaris as early as 08:00 am. He will brief you about the safari and then head to head for a city tour on which you will visit the Genocide Memorial Site showcasing information and memories of the horrific shading of blood during the 1994 Genocide, which resulted into killing of millions of Rwandese. You will also visit some of the local markets, then have lunch and transfer to volcanoes national park situated in Kinigi – Ruhengeri and lies at an altitude of 2400m to 4,507 meters and situated about 80 kilometers from Kigali City.
On reaching in the park, you will visit the Ibyachu village, have dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking.

Day 2: Trekking Gorillas and transfer to Kigali
After enjoying breakfast, you will transfer to the Kinigi Park headquarters by 07:00 am for briefing. Park rangers and guides will take you through the rules and regulations to be followed during this fascinating experience and how to act when you are in the presence of mountain gorillas.
You will also be assigned to a gorilla family to trek and then head into the forests of Volcanoes national park looking for mountain gorillas, this amazing activity takes between 2 to 6 hours of tracking mountain gorillas.
When you come face to face with the endangered mountain gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence while watching jump from branch to branch, feed, play among others and take amazing pictures. While in the forest of Volcanoes national park, you will also see buffaloes, monkeys, elephants and many birds.
Later you will transfer back to the lodge for lunch, checkout and transfer back to Kigali, you will be dropped off either at the hotel or at Kigali International airport for your departure flight back home.
