Volcanoes National Park is located in the northwest part of Rwanda, on the slopes of mountain ranges that are home to endangered mountain gorillas. The park covers 160 square kilometers of rainforest and encompasses five volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains: Muhabura, Bisoke, Karisimbi, Gahinga, and Sabinyo. Volcanoes national park is well known for Mountain Gorilla Trekking but is also rich with many other activities.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes national park.
On the first day of the safari, you will meet your guide/company representative from Kigali or Kigali international airport and take you for a city tour in Kigali town, where you will visit the genocide memorial site, Kimironko market, and Kigali Conventional center later have lunch and then be transferred to Ruhengeri, where you will see beautiful scenery along the way. After that, you will arrive at your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park and departure
You will have an early morning breakfast on the second day of the Rwanda safari and the driver will transfer you at RDB (Rwanda Development Board) for a briefing on what to do and what not to do while trekking gorillas. Set off for gorilla trekking, which takes about 3–4 hours in Rwanda, depending on the movements of gorillas. The rangers will lead you deep into the forest in search of gorillas; this experience is adventurous. You move up and down in the rugged terrain areas until you finally meet the gorillas.
You are permitted to spend only one hour with the harmonious creatures, during which you can take pictures and observe them breastfeeding, feeding, playing, and exhibiting their behaviors. Also ensure you carry enough water with you, hats, sunglasses, raincoats, and non-flash cameras.
Later, return to the lodge for Lunch and after checking out of the lodge, set off for Kigali, where you will have great and beautiful scenery along the way with beautiful landscapes. Drop-off will be at Kigali International airport or any hotel of your choice.
