3 Days Congo Gorilla Safari
The 3 Days Congo Gorilla safari is an exciting gorilla encounter experience in the unique and less crowded Virunga National Park, which is home to the endangered mountain gorillas. This is the impressive safari that starts from Kigali city in Rwanda and then ends in Goma in Congo.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Goma.
On the first day of the safari, your safari guide from Focus East Africa Tours will pick you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport and brief you about the safari. After the briefing, you will start the scenic journey to the border between Rwanda and Congo.
After clearing the border, you will proceed with your journey in Goma or Virunga National Park to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park.
After breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations for gorilla trekking with your packed lunch and then the gorilla trekking gear. After the briefing, you will enter the forest and look for the gorillas; that takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours.
After finding the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence, watching them feed, eat breakfast, groom, take their pictures and record their videos. After one hour you will be transferred back and then begin your journey to Gisenyi for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Departure to Kigali.
After breakfast, check out and you may opt for a boat ride on Lake Kivu to spot various aquatic birds and then animal species along the way. After that, you will begin on your journey back to Kigali with the en-route lunch in Kigali. after lunch you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your flight back home or to your hotel in Kigali, which will bring your safari to an end.
