DETAILED ITINERARY OF 5 DAYS MAASAI MARA AND LAMU HONEYMOON HOLIDAY
DAY 1: TRANSFER TO MASAI MARA AND AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, you will meet your guide and transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve for a Kenya wildlife safari. Along the way, you will have a first stop at the view point of the Great Rift Valley for spectacular views of the rift valley escarpments, you will have another stopover in Narok for a short interaction in the Masai people and purchase some of the beautiful crafts.
When you arrive in the reserve, you will head to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon. You will go for a game drive searching for several wildlife species hosting in the endless plains of Masai Mara, some of the animals to lookout for include zebras, warthogs, leopards, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, antelopes among others.
Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2: MAASAI MARA FULL DAY GAME DRIVE AND MARA RIVER
Have early breakfast and head to the Maasai plains for a full day game drive with your packed lunch boxes, on the game drives you will explore the endless plains of Maasai Mara and a have a chance to see various animals calling the park home such as lions, elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, leopards, cheetahs, zebras, hippos, Thompson’s gazelle among many others.
Your lunch will be set along the banks of Mara River and you will have a chance to take a walk along the banks and spot animals like hippos and crocodiles. Later you will head to the Maasai village for a cultural tour and experience the stable culture of the Maasai people who are the oldest inhabitants of East Africa.
You will be fascinated by the tall Maasai men who are known warriors and the Masai women bejeweled with bright beaded earrings and adorned with the brilliant red, blue and purple patterns of the Shukas and scraves they wear. On this 2-hour activity, you will be entertained by traditional songs and dances, visit the local herbalist among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3: Fly to Lamu Island
After breakfast, you will embark on a journey back to Nairobi City. After lunch, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for your domestic to Lamu. Upon landing at Lamu, you will be met by our guide and be transferred to your Beach Hotel on Lamu Island. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel’s pool side and the beach.

Day 4: Discover Lamu
Have breakfast, then head to Lamu Town a renowned World Heritage Site described as “The Oldest and best-preserved Swahili settlement in East Africa and still retains its traditional functions” by UNESCO. During the tour of the town, you will visit some of the most important attractions such as the fishing and vegetable markets, Lamu Fort, Lamu Museum and the Stone Town.
Your lunch will be at your hotel.
In the afternoon, you visit Takwa Ruins situated on the South side of Manda Island, the town which is now in ruins was founded around year 1500 and abandoned around 1700. The Great Mosque at Takwa is relatively well preserved.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, you will spend the morning at leisure then followed by lunch. Then be transferred to the airstrip for your domestic flight back to Nairobi. Upon landing, you will meet your drive and be transferred either to your Nairobi accommodation or to the airport for your onward flight.
