Detailed itinerary of 5 Days Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru Safari
Day 01: Start of your Safari from Nairobi
Your driver (our representative) will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport upon arrival for start of the safari, with a 8 am departure for a picturesque drive descending the Great Rift Valley and onwards to Masai Mara – the most famous game reserve in Kenya.
The drive time is approximately 4 to 5 hours and you will be driving in a private vehicle.
You will stop briefly enroute at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy the stunning views of the largest valley in the world and said to be visible from outer space. Arrive at your camp or lodge in Masai Mara for a leisurely breakfast.
Your afternoon game drive starts at 3.30pm allowing spotting of the amazing wildlife in the reserve ranging from the Big Cats such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, elephants and wildebeests among others. Our Driver – Guide will try his best to show you not just the Big Five animals but also the “Big Nine”. Return to your lodge or tented camp by 6:30 pm.

Day 02: Start the day with an early morning game drive in Masai Mara
You will have two game drives today, one in the morning from 6.15 am to 9 am, before breakfast and the other in the late afternoon after lunch from 3.30 pm to 6.30pm. Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best time to spot animals at their most active.
As your safari is private, your game drive timing are flexible, convenient if traveling with children or if on a honeymoon when you perhaps want to lie in longer on some of the days. You may also choose to have a full day game drive or one for the whole day with a packed picnic lunch at no extra cost. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the camp or lodge.

Day 03: Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha
Today your safari now takes you to Lake Naivasha, a fresh water lake which is a popular tourist spot in Kenya for locals and foreigners alike, arrive in time for lunch. Spend rest of the day at leisure – the lodges we book at the lake offer beautiful natural spaces where you can see numerous bird species among the trees as well as spot some animals ranging from waterbucks to warthogs. Also, you may choose to have one hour Lake Boat Safari which you get to see some of the lake’s wildlife such as hippos as well as enjoy the picturesque views of the lake and surrounding highland landscapes.

Day 04: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru
Today you can enjoy a relaxed breakfast as you only need to start your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park by 9 am after breakfast. Lake Nakuru is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also a Bird & Rhino Sanctuary where you also get to see lions and leopards. Arrive by midday and proceed to your booked accommodation for a leisurely lunch, at 3.30 pm embark on a comprehensive game drive of this scenic park including visits to viewpoints which offer superb photo opportunities.
Return to the lodge or camp for by 6.30pm.

Day 05: Return to Nairobi
Arise early for a 6.30 am game drive which will conclude your safari tour, following breakfast and checkout and head back to Nairobi with brief stops along the way at the Rift Valley Escarpment. Arrive in Nairobi 3 hours later, onward drop off transfer to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or drop off transfer at your overnight hotel.
