Detailed itinerary of 6 days Amboseli and Mara river crossing safari
Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi or on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta international airport, you will be picked up by your safari driver guide and set off on a journey to Amboseli national park marking the start of 6 days Amboseli and Mara River crossing safari. On a journey of 5 hours you will drive to the park passing via the Nairobi – Mombasa route, on arrival to the park’s headquarters you will be welcomed by Vistas of the typical African Savannah County dotted with local homesteads and colorful Masai herdsmen grazing their cattle.
You will drive to the lodge for lunch, after checking in and a delicious meal you will head to the park for an afternoon game drive searching for herds of elephnats, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetah, and warthogs among others. You will also enjoy scenic views of Mountain Kilimanjaro the tallest free standing mountain on the Africa continent dominating the park and its white snowcapped summit. Day 2: full day in Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked from the lodge and head to the park together with your picnic lunch for a full day of exploring Amboseli national park on morning and afternoon game drives. During the game drives you will enjoy watching several wild animals including large herds of elephants, lions, leopards, wildebeests, gazelles, giraffes among others. Your lunch will be set in one of the picnic sites in the park with excellent views of the savannah plains of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will then go for another game drive and in the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: transfer to Masai Mara national reserve Via Nairobi
After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and exit the park with en- route game drive as you head back to Nairobi where you will arrive in time for lunch which you will have at a lodge in Nairobi. After lunch you will proceed to Masai Mara national reserve, along the way you will have a stopover in Narok to view the magnificent Rift Valley Escarpment. Proceed to the reserve arriving in late afternoon, check into your lodge, rest, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: full day with the herds
Have breakfast and head out to the plains of Mara for a full day in the presence of the migrating herds, during your full day you will camp at the stretch of the Mara River where you will sit and wait for the herds to cross the Mara river. You will also be able to spot predators like lions, cheetahs, leopards, African Wild dogs waiting for the herds to cross, during this full day game drive you have picnic meals in the plains of the reserve. After the sunset, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: last full day with the herds and big cats
On this 5th day of 6 days Amboseli and Mara river crossing safari you will maximise you time in the Masai Mara national reserve by exploring the endless plains and spending more time on the Mara river to get a glimpse of the crossing herds. You will participate in early morning and late afternoon game drive on which you will be able to catch the cats when they are most active, cats to lookout for include lions, leopards and cheetahs. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Back to Nairobi
Have early breakfast and head to the reserve for the last game drive and after the game drive you will return to the lodge for breakfast and then exit the reserve and head on journey back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International airport where you will connect with your flight back home or at any location of your preference.
