6 Days Masai Mara and Serengeti

This 6 Days Masai Mara and Serengeti tour takes you to explore the Great wildebeest Migration covering Masai Mara in Kenya and Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. This Kenya Tanzania combined safari is designed for tourists who want to witness the “endless plains” and the world’s highest concentration of the big cats on one epic excursion.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve.

On your first day, this will kick of your safari in Kenya, where you arrive in Maasai Mara, usually by lunchtime. After lunch, you will head out for the game drive. The Mara is famous for its high concentration of big cats. Your guide will as well use a radio to coordinate with other rangers to find lions or leopards hidden in the hidden grass. After that transfer back to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full day in Masai Mara National Reserve.

You will leave the lodge with a packed lunch. This allows you to travel deep in the reserve toward the Mara River. Here you will see hippos and giant crocodiles. If you are visiting between July and September, you might witness the dramatic wildebeest river crossings. You can also choose to visit a Maasai Boma (village) to learn about traditional fire making and then jumping dances. After transfer back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: The Border crossing experience from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park.

This is the most logistical part of your trip. After an early breakfast, you drive toward the Isebania Border. You will exit the Kenyan side, walk across ‘’no man’s land,” and enter Tanzania for a Tanzania wildlife safari experience. Your Kenyan guide will hand you over to your Tanzanian guide.

Once the paperwork is done, you enter Serengeti National Park through the North. You will enjoy a “game drive en route” to your camp, meaning you keep your eyes peeled for the wildlife while driving to your next home. And once you arrive you will check into your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 4 and 5: Experiencing Serengeti national park.

Days 4 and 5 are dedicated to the central Serengeti (Seronera). This area is known as the “Cat Capital” because the rocky outcrops (Kopjes) provide the perfect lookout points for lions and cheetahs.

During you will experience the morning magic from 6:30am; that’s when the predators are most active in the cool morning air. And then on Day 5 you can choose an optional Hot Air Balloon Flight, you float over the herds during early morning and land for a champagne breakfast in the bush. Then your guide will track the “Mega Herds.”

Serengeti National Park

You will see thousands of wildebeests and zebras stretching to the horizon, a sight that explains why Maasai named this place ‘’Siringet’’ (the place where the land moves on forever). Return in the evening for dinner and overnight at your camp.

Day 6: Departure.

Your final morning is a peaceful one. Wake up and check out from your lodge. You enjoy the final game drive as you head toward the airstrip or the park gate. This is your last chance to find the elusive rhino or leopard. After a bush lunch, you are then transferred to Arusha or back to the border for your journey home that will bring your wildlife safari to the end.
