Detailed Itinerary of 6 Days Samburu and Meru Safari
Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, you will embark on a journey to Samburu National Reserve arriving at your lodge/camp in time for lunch. Later in the afternoon you will go for your first game drive.
The journey from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve passes scenic highlands and arid landscapes, offering magnificent views of Mount Kenya, local communities and wildlife corridors before reaching the rugged beautiful landscape of Samburu.

Day 2-3: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
These two days we explore Samburu National Reserve on morning and afternoon game drives. From the comfort of your safari vehicle, lookout for the Samburu Special Five; Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali Ostritch, gerenuk and Beisa Orxy and other several wildlife species.

Day 4: Samburu to Meru National Park
After breakfast, drive out of Samburu National Reserve heading to Meru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch then go for an afternoon game drive.
The journey from Samburu National Reserve to Meru National Park, passes scenic savannahs, rivers and traditional villages. Arrive in Meru in time to explore its lush landscapes, diverse wildlife and rich history, including the legacy of the lioness – Elsa.
Meru National Park is a remote, rugged and prominently unspoilt safari destination in Kenya, sitting on an 870 square kilometers area. The park is largely set in the wilderness yet strikingly beautiful. Few places and spaces compare to this great Kenya destination. Meru National Park is known for its northern Kenyan specials which are specially adapted to arid conditions such as the shy lesser kudu, the impressive looking Beisa Orx and gerenuk with its elongated neck.
During the game drive, some of the animals to lookout for include white rhinos, lions, hyenas, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, hippos, elephants, zebras, wildebeests among others.
Morning drive out of Samburu heading to Meru National Park, arrive in time for lunch then go for an afternoon game drive.

Day 5: Full Day in Meru National Park
After breakfast, go for morning and afternoon game drive with optional visit to Elsa’s Grave (from Born Free Fame).
Spend a full day in Meru National Park exploring the park’s unspoiled landscapes of rivers, swamps and grasslands. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives spotting elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, giraffes, lions and diverse birdlife, while taking in the park’s serene beauty and historical significance.

Day 6: Departure
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a journey back to Nairobi where you will be dropped off at the airport to catch your flight back home or to your next destination.
