EPIYA CHAPEYU/BIGI TENTED CAMP-TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK
Epiya chapeyu/Bigi Tented Camp is a budget accommodation found on the banks of Galana River at the foot of yatta plateau in the heart of Tsavo East National Park Kenya Region. The camp is surrounded by doum palms and acacia trees on the riverside areas where flora and fauna abound giving the guests endless chances to discover and explore the sweeping views. Munyani gate of Tsavo East national park is 40km away from the camp. One can be at the CAMP from Nairobi by road taking about 4-5 hours drive (326 km) then an hour and half to fly from Nairobi to the close Bush airstrip which takes 5 km to be transferred to the camp. The camp is convenient, affordable to budget guests and located in the perfect position overlooking the vast expanse of African bush and herds of animal roaming beneath the camp and at the river.
Epiya Chapeyu/Bigi tented camp consists of 20 spacious and comfortable en-suite rooms with the view of the river that are built in African Traditional style with natural materials of grass thatched roof, local woods. All rooms have modern en-suite bathroom with hot showers, clean flush toilets, double sinks, mosquito nets, wooden chairs and tables, candles , free bottled water in the rooms to mention but a few. Rooms have sitting areas, verandas and private balconies that give a stunning view of the park wildlife roaming at the camp and surrounding areas. Rooms are well equipped with comfortable beds containing queen sized beds to accomplish while on your Kenya Safari. The camp offers campfires where guests relax and share stories/experience about the safari, it also provide warmth to visitors in cold days. Rooms are configured as singles, doubles, twins, triples with different costs ranging from 150$ per night and above. The room rate keeps changing as they go high during peak season than in low season.
Epiya chapeyu/Bigi tented camp offers more services and facilities which include; A restaurant with the view of the park that serves different meals both international and African- inspired meals that meets guests choice ; Continental breakfast facing the river, picnic lunch and dinner in the main building served by well trained, friendly and welcoming staff ,they also serve bush diners .

Tsavo national park is made of two separate parks located in Kenya Province between Nairobi city and Mombasa, The Park is considered to be among the largest parks in Kenya covering the total area of 22,000km squared. The two different parks in Tsavo national park include; Tsavo east national park which is the oldest and largest park in Kenya found in the semi-arid areas of Taru desert occupying the total area of 13,747 kilometers squared and Tsavo west national park also covers the total area of 9,065 kilometers squared. The Two park are most visited with different categories of accommodations; Budget, mid- range and Luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to visitors visiting the park. Tsavo national park has a variety of wildlife like; Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Buffaloes, Zebras, Leopards, Giraffes, Cheetahs, Lions Etc and over 500 species of birds like; ostriches, starling , weaver birds, Kingfishers, hornbills etc while on a Kenya Safari.
