Many of Uganda’s outstanding tourism safari attractions include traditional beliefs, which is why so many people from different regions want to visit them. These include Amabere ga Nyina mwiru.  This rock cave has stalagmites and stalactites that look like breasts because they leak milk-like fluid, and the local man’s story about it is remarkable.

This cave is called after Nyinamwiru, the daughter of Bukuku, a prominent affluent man and King of the Batembuzi dynasty, which founded the Tooro and Bunyoro kingdoms.  Nyinamwiru was incredibly lovely and naughty, so her father cut off her breasts and villagers think her breasts grew into rock pouring with milk. Another tale says she hacked off her breasts, but cave visitors are taught all about it.

In order to get to that cave, you go over the cool lush moss and fern wrapped by trees and rocks consequently the place is really appealing to explore on a Uganda safari. Within the cave, there is an area that has numerous stalactites created in the shape of a woman’s breasts and the water falling from them contains the laid down white calcite consequently adopts on the color of breast milk. This liquid comes from breast-like features, hence locals call it breast milk. However, a knowledgeable guide will explain the cave’s science and folklore.  These rocks (stalactites and stalagmites) grow because the mineralized solution drips out year-round until an arm reaches the ground or ceiling and produces a powerful pillar that may break down.

Water drips splash in the cave’s basement like it’s raining. An expert guide will provide all the information you need. Most stalagmite rocks should not be touched with bare hands because they are formed by minerals solidifying out of the water solution onto the old surface, which means lotions and skin oils can easily land where the mineral water will cling, affecting formation growth.  Hand oils and grime can disturb rock formation and change color, generating a new feature.

This is an amazing safari destination to visit for nature lovers. The entrance to the cave is low and narrow and requires some stooping, but most of the inside is big enough to walk upright except at some narrow points, so wear appropriate clothes and bring extra clothes to wear afterwards as you will get dirty. That chamber is claimed to have been Bachwezi dogs’ resting place, and the ceiling has dog-paw pits. There is additionally a waterfall where the locals call a natural Shower and it is there that Bachwezi used to go to take showers. And the same way, all the visitors/ tourists both locals and foreigners are also allowed to take a shower from there if they want to.
