KITICH FOREST CAMP SAMBURU
Kitich forest camp is a mid –range accommodation(3 star) found in one of the valley in the remote areas of samburu , on the bank of the clear Ngeng River, Northern Frontier of Kenya. The lodge is situated in lush mountain forests found on the slopes of Mathew mountains .The camp is near kalama or Loisaba airstrips samburu which takes approximately 2-3 hours drive to the camp . One can be able to stay at the camp and visit samburu national reserve since it takes 2-3 hours drive from the lodge. The camp is in an ideal place where elephants forge trails amongst ancient hard wood tress and business friendly for guests with its breathtaking views of the lush forest , River Ngeng and surrounding areas.
Kitich Forest camp consists of 6 spacious and comfortable rooms with the view of the river and forest canopy that reflects African traditional building style with local woods and modern comfort. Rooms are well decorated, elevated with raised platform and furnished with high standard private en- suite facilities of flushing toilets, hot and cold showers, mosquito nets, Air conditioning, satellites, flat screen TVs’, sitting areas, verandas and balconies overlooking River Ngeng , landscape and surrounding areas. Rooms are well equipped with comfortable and excellent beds with clean beddings varying depending on singles, doubles, twins, triple rooms with different costs ranging from 200$ per night and above but during high/peak season rate goes slightly high than in low season . There are campfires at the camp that provides warmth to the lodge during cold nights.

Samburu national park is among the less known parks and smallest park found in the northern part near Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya in Samburu country .The park occupies the total area of 165square kilometers and 345 km from Nairobi. Samburu country is found in the former rift valley of Kenya. The park is the home of various animals over 200 mammals like; Giraffes, Buffaloes , Elephants , Big cats, leopards, lions , zebras Warthogs , olive baboons etc. and 390 species of birds which include; Sun birds , bee –eaters , sunbirds, Tawny Eagles , Grey headed kingfisher , Yellow-billed hornbill and many more birds.

Samburu are sub tribe of the masaai , they are Nilotic people of North –central Kenya. They are semi-nomadic pastoralists with herds of cattle, goat, sheep and camel.
