Masai Mara National Reserve Entry Fees & Park Rules 2024 & 2025 : Masai Mara National Reserve is located in south west Kenya and is a vast scenic expanse of gently rolling African savannah plains stretch approximately 1510 square kilometers, the reserve borders the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the south.

Masai Mara National Reserve is a unique wildlife conservation haven famous for its incredible natural diversity of wildlife and is a premier Kenya safari destination in East Africa and Africa as well. The reserve is paradise for animals which is a reason to why it is visited by many visitors from all over the world, some of the animals in the reserve include elephant, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes and many more.

Note:  Daily Entry Fees in Maasai Mara National Reserve are valid from 6 am to 6 pm (12 hours’ basis)

Departure By Road – all visitors departing from the Reserve by road should exit the reserve not later than 10 am, exiting beyond this time will attract additional entry fee

Departure By Air – All visitors residing both inside and outside the reserve exiting by air should arrive at the airstrip not later than 10 am, extension beyond this time will be considered an additional day in park so extra entry fees will apply. A 2-hour transit ticket will be issued to the guests coming from facilities out side the reserve, at the gate of entry to allow the visitors reach the airstrips with the reserve.

How to Pay / Mode of Payment

Fees in Maasai Mara National Reserve are made in Cash US Dollars or Kenya Shilling and they are accepted at all the entry gates except if you are paying for entry at the western side of the reserve that is Mara – Triangle – Mara Conservancy area where only cashless payments are accepted, either Visa/Mastercard or Mpesa Mobile Money.

Cashless modes are accepted as an option for all the other entry gates including Sekenani and Talek gates. Citizens and Residents of Kenya are required to carry identification and proof of resident to avail for the Resident rates.
