SAMBURU INTREPIDS TENTED CAMP-SAMBURU NATIONAL PARK
Samburu intrepids tented camp is a mid range accommodation (3 star) found on the banks of uwaso Nyiro River in the Kenyan semi arid North in Samburu National Park. The camp is located in the wilderness area on a raised deck overlooking the river where elephants sometimes make an appearance and crocodiles come out to lounge by the river bank. One can be at the lodge by road transport which takes approximately 5-6 hours drive from Nairobi to the park and air transport it takes an hour flying from Nairobi to the close samburu airstrip then an hour drive from airstrip to the camp.
Samburu Intrepids tented camp consists of 28 spacious and comfortable refurbished tents overlooking the river which reflects the local building style with grass thatched roofs with modern comfort . Tents are wel decorated and furnished with private en –suite facilities of Clean flushing toilets , hot and cold showers , mosquito nets, flat screen TVS, magogany closet wooden chairs and tables , shavers complementary bottled water , solar energy etc., Tents have private wooden balconies and sitting areas ,you relax while enjoying the stunning view over the River Ewaso Nyiro , wildlife especially crocodiles on the river bank and elephants camp and surrounding areas.. Tents are equipped with excellent and comfortable clean beddings with queen sized bed . There are fire places/campfires at the camp where guests sit and relax as they share experienced about the safari and it also provides warmth to visitors during nights at the lodges. Tents are in different categories and sizes depending single, double , twin and triple/ family tents and rooms cost 300$ per night and above ( note that high season rate is different to low season rate)

Samburu national park is among the less known parks and smallest park found in the northern part near Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya in Samburu country .The park occupies the total area of 165square kilometers and 345 km from Nairobi. Samburu country is found in the former rift valley of Kenya. The park is the home of various animals over 200 mammals like; Giraffes, Buffaloes , Elephants , Big cats, leopards, lions , zebras Warthogs , olive baboons etc and 390 species of birds which include; Sun birds , bee –eaters , sunbirds, Tawny Eagles , Grey headed kingfisher , Yellow-billed hornbill and many more birds.
