See a Flying Toilet.
View this extremely unique-looking wooden toilet. There is a pail in the lavatory that held the excrement, which the attendants would remove every day. Of course, it has been updated with a flush toilet, but it’s unfortunate that guests never get to see the actual thing.
See Bror’s Elephant Foot Table.
The table is a really fascinating object. Standing in what was once Bror’s study, its legs resemble an elephant’s feet!
‘Drive’ a Classic Fordson Tractor.
A 1922 Fordson tractor that Karen used on the farm is located inside the well-kept museum grounds. Two old waggons waste away next to the tractor. Graded coffee was transported by waggons to the town’s railway station and then to the port in Mombasa. The coffee would be shipped to London from Mombasa.

Marvel at Yesteryear Coffee Roasting.
Karen had a gigantic roasting equipment that she used to prepare coffee from her property. Unfortunately, this one is a replica and is located quite a distance from the original.
Karen had a gigantic roasting equipment that she used to prepare coffee from her property. Unfortunately, this one is a replica and is located quite a distance from the original. After the filming of the Out of Africa movie, Universal Pictures gave it to the museum. There are rumors that the duplicate is closer to the house than the original, which was much larger.
Draw Parallels between Danish and Kenyan Kitchens.
Take a look at the Danish kitchen, which was constructed outside the main home, just like traditional African kitchens. You’ll pass a massive 100-year-old tree that Karen planted on your left on the way to the kitchen, and it’s currently home to tree hyraxes. Another tree, which is 96 years old, is said by the guides to have a 200-year lifespan, meaning it has only reached half of its life expectancy.
Wed or Party at the Grounds.
Host a wedding, business event, or any other kind of social gathering on the immaculate grounds. To reserve your spot, speak with the museum administration.
