Language; Maa.alangauge derived from Nilo-Saharan, related to Dinka and Nuer.They also speak the official languages of Tanzania and Kenya those languages are Swahili and English.

Population; The Maasai population is now estimated 900000 people, although the Kenyan and  Tanzanian governments have established programs to encourage the Maasai to leave behind their traditional semi-nomadic lifestyles, the Maasai people have carried on their age-old customs.

Maasai shelter. Historically The Maasai traditional houses were designed for people on the move and thus their houses were very impermanent in nature. The Inkajijik (houses) are either circular or loaf-shaped, and are made by women. Their villages are enveloped in a circular Enkang (fence) built by the men and this protects their cattle at night from wild animals in the national park.

Maasai clothing; Clothing varies by sex,age,place.Young men wear black for several months after circumcision, although red is a favored colour among the maasai;Black,Blue,chercked and striped cloth are also worn together with multicolored African garments. In the 1960’s the Maasai began to replace sheepskin, calf hides and animals skin for more commercial material. The cloth used to wrap around the body is called Shuka in the maa language.

Food for the masai people; The Maasai heavily depend on cattle for nutrition and it consists of six basic foods that is milk,fat,blood,honey,and treebark,Both fresh and curdled are drunk. Fresh milk is drunk in a calabash (gourd) and is sometimes mixed with fresh blood.

How to get to Lake Nakuru national park.

Lake Nakuru national park can be accessed by both air and road means.

Roads. Its driving 156 kilometers North West of Nairobi on the main A104 road, will lead you to the park on a tarmac road. The most commonly used route in to the park is through the main gate which is 4km from Nakuru town.you can also access the park from Nairobi-N road at lanet gate. The nderit gate is used by the people accessing the park from Masai Mara or elementaita.This takes you five and half hours to reach the park.

Air flights;You can fly to lake Nakuru national park using Jomo Kenyatta international airport to the park’s,naishi strip. The strip is already inside the park so there is no need to through any gate to access the park, you just continue on with your visit in the park. This takes you forty minutes to reach inside the national park.

 Lake Nakuru national park is deal for various activities that are done inside the park like bird watching, hiking, picnicking, and camping, game viewing. Lake Nakuru national park is famous due a large number of flamingos this is because the lake is a shallow soda lake that attracts the flamingos to its alkaline    shores as they feed on algae, not only flamingos it’s also known as a bird lover hub because of the numerous birds that make a home in the park which are five hundred (500) species of birds and as well as animals including lion, impalas ’rhinos, buffalos, water bucks, Rothschild and many others. In 1957 Lake Nakuru national park was first declared as conservation area for birds and UNESCOS World heritage and recognized as an IBA since 2009.In 1990 lake Nakuru was declared as a RAMSER site.
