Detailed itinerary of 10 days Uganda and Kenya safari

Day 1: Travel to Bwindi impenetrable

Upon arrival at Entebbe International airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Kampala you will be picked up by your safari guide and after a short briefing you will embark on a journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park found in South Western region of Uganda, along the way you will have 2 stopovers. One at the Equator line for pictures and water experiment and another one in Mbarara for lunch, then proceed to the park arriving in late evening, check in, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: gorilla trekking – Bwindi Forest

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing at the park’s headquarters, in the briefing a senior ranger will take you through the rules and regulations to follow during the trekking then be grouped into 8 and then be assigned a group to trek. You will trek into the forests of Bwindi in search for mountain gorillas, gorilla trekking takes approximately 2-7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent the previous night.

When you locate the gorillas you are allowed to stay in their presence for 1 hour while observing their behavior, take pictures as long as your flashlight is off and learn more about them. Trek back to the park’s headquarters to pick your gorilla trekking certificates. You can either head back to your lodge or go for a local community experience  in the Batwa. Retire at your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: travel to Queen Elizabeth national park via Ishasha Sector and have a boat cruiser 

After breakfast, you will checkout of your drive and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park through the Ishasha Sector a home to the famous tree-climbing lions, as you drive through you will be able to watch them as they rest on the fig tree. You will also be able to see other animals such as monkeys, kobs, cape buffaloes, elephants and various birds such as herons, crested cranes among others.

You will have lunch at your lodge and in the afternoon you will head to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise, as you cruise you will be able to see many animals such as hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and elephants that come to take water as well as different bird species like the malachite kingfisher, saddle billed stork, among others. Return to your lodge, have dinner and Overnight

Day 4: full day game drive

On the 4th day of your 10 days Uganda and Kenya safari, wake up for breakfast and head to the park a full day of game drive, while driving in Kasenyi tracks and other tracks running through the park you will have chances of seeing animals such as lions, buffaloes, antelopes, elephants among others. You will have lunch either at the lodge or at a picnic site. In the afternoon you will go for another game drive exploring the park more. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive as you Depart to Kampala

After breakfast, you will have breakfast and go for en route game drive as you exit the park head back to Kampala arriving in the evening, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: fly to Uganda and transfer to Amboseli

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe international Airport for your flight to Kenya, upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be picked up by a safari guide and transfer to Amboseli national park.

Amboseli national park is one of the most popular national parks in Kenya famously known for being a home to large herds of elephants and for the spectacular views created by Mount Kilimanjaro the tallest free standing Mountain in Africa. When you arrive, you will have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for an afternoon game drive on which you will see wildlife species such as lions, zebras, wildebeests, giraffe, hippo, cape buffaloes among others. In the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: full day in Amboseli national park

Have breakfast and head to the park for a full day of game drive, on this day you will go with your packed lunch, have morning and afternoon game drive. as explore the park you will be able to  visit most areas and have high chances of seeing animals such as elephants, lions, gazelles, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and many bird species.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: transfer to Masai Mara via Nairobi

On the 8th day of your 10 days Uganda and Kenya safari, have early breakfast, checkout and head on a journey to Masai Mara national reserve via Nairobi, you will have lunch in Nairobi and then proceed to Masai Mara with a stopover at Narok for views of the Rift Valley escarpments. Proceed to the park arriving in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Full day Masai Mara

Have an early breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for a full day of exploring the Masai Mara plains as you search for the different wildlife species. During the morning game drive, you will see a variety of wildlife species such as the big five which includes Leopards, Lions, Elephants, Buffalos, and Rhinos since they are more active at this time of day. You will have lunch in the wilderness of the reserve as you enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch the wildlife species grazing and roaming in the distant plains. After lunch, you will have another game drive where you will see wildlife species such as Giraffes, elands, wildebeest, zebras, topis among others. In the evening, you will return to your lodge where you will have dinner and overnight.

Day10: early morning game drive and departure

Have an early breakfast at your lodge and then check out of the lodge. After checking out, you will have an en route game drive as you proceed to Nairobi where your guide will drop you off at your preferred location which will mark the end of your safari.
