Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and transfer to kibale national park

pick up and transfer to kibale: You will be picked up by your guide at your current location or at the airport and you will be welcomed and also have a briefing about your safari. After briefing, you will continue with your journey to Kibale national park. You will have a stop in fort portal town where you will have lunch and after lunch, you will visit the beautiful crater lakes and enjoy the beautiful scenery around you. You will continue to your lodge Kibale national park and you will check in and prepare for your dinner and to spend the night at Chimpanzee guest house.

Day 2; chimpanzee trekking and community visit

chimpanzee trekking: Breakfast will be served to you at your lodge on the 2nd day of your safari before you proceed for your chimpanzee trekking activity. You will have a briefing of the chimpanzee trekking activity at the park headquarters by the park officials who will tell you the necessary precautions and procedures about the chimpanzee trekking activity. You will continue into the kibale forest in search of the chimpanzees which can be seen swinging around the trees among the different bird species which can also be seen during the trek. A variety of primate species are also found in the forest and they include black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, l’hoest monkeys among others. You will return to your lodge and have your lunch after the chimpanzee trekking activity.
Community visit: Your community visit will take place in the evening and you will get to interact with the local community and get to know about their ways of life, cultures and traditions and also see the local art and craftwork, watch traditional dance performances and after this experience, you will be driven back to your lodge for your dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee guest house.

Day 3; transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and evening game drive

transfer to Queen Elizabeth: Your day of 12 days Uganda wilderness tour will begin with breakfast served at your lodge in Kibale national park before you check out of the lodge. After checking out of the lodge, you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park for your next adventure which will begin with checking in at your lodge and having your lunch.
evening game drive: You will have some rest at your lodge and later in the evening, you will head into the wilderness of Queen Elizabeth national park as you search for the different wildlife species such as buffalos, warthogs, elephants, lions, antelopes, reedbucks among others. You will return to your lodge for your dinner and to spend the night at Pumba cottages.

Day 4; drive to ishasha sector and evening boat cruise

drive to ishasha sector: You will start with early morning breakfast at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park and then you will proceed to the famous ishasha sector which is known for its tree climbing lions which are unique to this part of the national park. As you explore the territory of the tree climbing lions, you will drive around the savannah plains as you watch the beautiful scenery around you and look out for more wildlife species grazing around and roaming the national park. Lunch will be served at your lodge upon your arrival after your experience in ishasha sector.
Evening boat cruise: After lunch, you will have some rest at your lodge and later in the evening, you will engage in a relaxing boat ride along the kazinga channel where Lake Edward and Lake George meet. You will catch sight of a variety of wildlife species during your boat ride such as hippos and nile crocodiles swimming near your boat as well as other wildlife species grazing near the shores of the channel. Different bird species also flock the water shores such as cormorants, hammerkops, kingfishers among others as which you will see as you also enjoy a beautiful golden sunset and proceed to your lodge where your dinner awaits and you will also spend the night as before at Pumba cottages.

Day 5; transfer to Bwindi national park

transfer to Bwindi: You will enjoy breakfast at your lodge before checking out of the lodge and driving out of Queen Elizabeth national park as you enjoy an enroute game drive during which you will see the active wildlife species and then continue your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park which has more adventures waiting for you. You will check-in at your lodge in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and be served with a delicious lunch and you will spend the rest of the day at your lodge and also have dinner and spend the night at Buhoma haven lodge.

Day 6; gorilla trekking

gorilla trekking: You will have breakfast at your lodge in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park as you prepare for your gorilla trekking activity. Your guide will drive you to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about gorilla trekking and the rules and regulations to follow during the trek as you explore the natural habitat of the gorillas. You will follow different trails as you look for the endangered species of gorillas in the company of a ranger and you will be allowed to spend about 1 hour with the gorillas before the gorilla trekking activity comes to an end and you return to the briefing point where you guide will be waiting to drive you back to your lodge for your late lunch.

Batwa community visit: You will have a community visit during which you will interact with the Batwa community who have a unique culture and were forest dwellers who depended on the Bwindi forest. You will interact with the Batwa and know more about their way of life, watch traditional dance performances, see local arts and crafts, food preparation methods among other activities. After the community interaction, you will be driven back to your lodge to have your dinner and spend the night at Buhoma haven lodge.

Day 7; transfer to Lake Mburo national park and evening nature walk

transfer to Lake Mburo: Breakfast will be served early at your lodge in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and then you will check out of the lodge as you prepare for your drive to Lake Mburo national park. You will have your lunch when you arrive and check in at your lodge in Lake Mburo national park and also have some rest.
evening nature walk: You will have an evening nature walk to experience the wilderness of Lake Mburo national park on foot as you enjoy seeing the beautiful scenery and have a close interaction with the different attractions in the national park. You will return to your lodge for your dinner and to spend the night at Arcadia cottages.

Day 8; morning game drive and evening boat cruise

morning game drive: You will have breakfast at your lodge as the night before as you prepare for your morning game drive in Lake Mburo national park. You will see a variety of wildlife species in the national park since they are very active during the morning hours and they include zebras, buffalos, antelopes, warthogs, elands, topi among others. You will return to your lodge after your morning game drive and have your lunch.
evening boat cruise: You will also engage in an evening boat ride on Lake Mburo later in the day to experience the beauty of the rest of the national park as you enjoy the beautiful sunset and the surroundings of the national park. You will return to your lodge and have your dinner after your evening boat cruise and also spend the night at Arcadia Cottages.

Day 9; transfer to Kampala and evening city tour

Transfer to Kampala: Your day will begin with breakfast followed by checking out of the lodge in Lake Mburo national park as you prepare for your drive to Kampala. You will have an enroute game drive as you exit the national park and you will see a variety of wildlife and bird species in the savannah of the national park.
Evening city tour: You will be driven to your hotel in Kampala and you will proceed to check in at the hotel and also enjoy your lunch and to relax after your journey. You will have an evening city tour to explore the beautiful Kampala city and you will visit the old Kampala mosque, the kabaka’s palace, Nakasero market as you enjoy driving through the busy city streets. You will return to your hotel for your dinner and to spend the night at Naguru skyz hotel or have an optional night out to explore the vibrant night life at the night club and later return to your hotel.

Day 10: Drive to Jinja and zip lining

Drive to Jinja: You will have breakfast at your lodge as you prepare for your drive to Jinja for more adventurous experiences at different attractions such as Mabira forest for zip lining. You will check out of your hotel in Kampala and proceed to Jinja.
Ziplining: You will stop at Mabira forest for your zip lining experience and exploring the beauty of the natural forest and after this activity, you will proceed to Jinja town and check in at your hotel and also have your lunch. You will have an evening tour around Jinja town and also interact with the local community after which you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight at 2 friend’s hotel.

Day 11: White water rafting and Visit to source of the Nile

White water rafting: Breakfast will be served at your hotel as you prepare for your white water rafting activity along the Nile. You will be driven to the briefing point along the shores of the Nile where you will start your rafting experience with a briefing and then you will be given the necessary safety equipment and then you will proceed to your rafts.
Visit to source of the Nile: After you rafting experience, you will have lunch as you enjoy the beautiful scenery around the Nile. Later in the day, you will also visit the source of the Nile and have a boat ride on the source of the Nile. You will also visit the Mahatma Gandhi memorial as well as see different arts and craft work at the source of the Nile before returning to your lodge for your dinner and overnight at 2 friends’ hotel.

Day 12: Return to Entebbe

Return to Entebbe: You will have breakfast before checking out of your lodge in Jinja as you prepare for your drive to Entebbe where you will be dropped off at your preferred location by your guide which will mark the end of your 12 days Uganda wilderness tour.
