This 12 Days Uganda wildlife Safari Tour is an interesting and extraordinary adventure that starts and ends in Kampala. The safari will take you to the most stunning destinations in Uganda right from Mabamba swamp, Murchison falls national park, Kibale forest national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, Bwindi impenetrable national park and Lake Bunyonyi During the safari you will be able to spot different birds species , different animal species among others.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and Drive to Mabamba Swamp
On the 1st day of your Safari, depending on your location, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari tour and then drive you to Mabamba swamp where you will be able to spot different bird species like the prehistoric shoebill stork, swamp flycatcher among others. After the swamp tour, you will check in your lodge lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure plus stay overnight.
Day 2: Drive to Murchison falls national park via Ziwa rhino sanctuary
Wake up in the morning, you will be served with breakfast at the lodge, after meet your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel and then start the journey to Murchison falls national park in north western part of Uganda.
On the way to Murchison Falls National Park, you will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking where after you will continue the journey with another stopover in Masindi for lunch. Then after having your lunch, you will proceed the journey to Murchison falls national park.
Upon arrival you will check in your lodge for relaxation as you’re preparing for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast, meet your driver guide to go for the early morning game drive to spot the early risers. During the game drive you will be able to spot a variety of wildlife such as large herds of elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, giraffes, lions, leopards, view several bird species among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After having lunch, your driver guide will take you for an exciting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls where you will get a chance to view large herds of hippos and crocodiles in water, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes along the shores, view aquatic birds like kingfishers, cormorants, bee-eaters, hornbills among others. After the boat ride you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale national park
Wake up early morning, you will be served with breakfast, after you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive to Kibale national park.
On your way, you will have en-route lunch and also enjoy spectacular views farmlands, traditional homesteads, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations with stopovers to take photos.
Upon arrival in Kibale national park you will continue to the lodge, check in for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale national park and Bigodi swamp walk
On the 5th day, after an early breakfast at the lodge, meet up with your driver guide who will drive you to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of chimpanzee trekking.
After the briefing you will be allocated a chimpanzee family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with trails in the forest and Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are.
Once the chimpanzees have been located, you will spend one hour with them in their natural habitat. After the experience you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for an interesting guided swamp walk in Bigodi sanctuary where you will be able to view variety of bird, view mammals and several primates like blue monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, vervet monkeys, l’ hoest monkeys among others. After the nature walk you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 6: Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park
Wake up early up early in the morning, after a relaxed breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to embark on you journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda.
On the way to the Queen Elizabeth N.P, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival in the park, you will continue to check into the lodge for lunch where after you will either relax at the lodge or go for an afternoon game drive After the game drive you will drive to the lodge check in, have dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast at the lodge, meet your driver guide for a morning game drive experience in Kasenyi plains.
During the game drive you will have great views of the sunrise, big four mammals, other animal species like waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, views of different bird species among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will drive to the landing site near Mweya safari lodge for an incredible boat cruise along Kazinga channel.
During the boat trip you will spot large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view buffaloes, elephants, warthogs drinking water along the banks, view water birds etc. After the boat cruise you will return to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 8: Drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to embark on your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park which harbours half of the world’s mountain gorillas.
During you journey, you will have stop overs and also have lunch where after you will proceed the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park, upon arrival you will check into the lodge, relax at the lodge as you are preparing for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Wake up early in the morning , you will be served with breakfast and also you will carry packed lunch and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorilla trekking.
After the briefing you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the gorillas and well conversant with trails in the jungle. During trekking you will spot other animals like forest elephants, buffaloes, other primates like l’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, different bird species like African harrier hawk, crowned hornbill, African green pigeon, blue headed sunbird among others.
Once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their habitat. After the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking, meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and stay overnight.
Day 10: Guided Nature walk in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After the breakfast at the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for an interesting nature walk in the park where you will be able to get up-close and personal with different animals, view different bird species, butterflies, plant and tree species, listen to sweet sounds of bird species, take beautiful photos among others.
After the guided nature walk, you will return to the lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the day at leisure and stay overnight.
Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for canoeing
Wake up early in the morning, you will be served with breakfast and after you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to embark on your journey to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale district.
The journey to Lake Bunyonyi takes about 3 hours’ drive and upon arrival you will go for an amazing canoe ride on the Lake where you will be able to explore some of the 29, view different bird species and have spectacular views of the terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads among others. After the canoe ride, you will drive to the lodge for lunch where after you will relax at the lodge or engage in optional activities like nature walk or community tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa. In the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and stay overnight.
Day 12: Departure
This is the last day of your safari, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your guide to embark on your journey back to Kampala.
On the way you will have en-route lunch at the Equator where after you will continue the journey to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advice.
