Day 1: Pick up. (6:00am)
On the first day of the safari your safari guide from Focus East Africa Tours will pick you from your hotel in Diani beach and brief you about the safari. After the briefing you will depart from Diani beach and begin your journey to Taita Hills wildlife sanctuary which is approximately 4 hours, upon your arrival you will enter the sanctuary and start your morning game drive. This is where you are going to spot the various animal species like black rhinos, cape buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, leopards, giraffes, antelopes, and viewing various beautiful and colorful bird species like Taita Thrush, Verreaux’s Apalis, Taita White-eye, African Hawk-Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Grey Crowned Crane, African Fish Eagle, Hamerkop, African Paradise Flycatcher, Yellow-bellied Waxbill and among many others.
You will visit Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, this is a fenced area within the sanctuary, providing a safe habitat for the black rhinos. Or you will opt to explore the Taita Hills Viewpoint which will offer you stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
After the experience, you will drive back to the lodge where you will be served with the delicious lunch. After lunch you will embark on the afternoon experience. You will spot a variety of animal species that are located in the sanctuary, after the afternoon game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and departure.
On the 2nd day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and be served with a hearty breakfast, after the breakfast you will meet your safari guide and go for the morning game drive this is where you are going to spot animal species like elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, lions, leopards and among others. You will visit Taita Hills viewpoint for the stunning views and the beautiful landscape. After the morning game drive you will go back to lodge for a lunch or having lunch at a designated picnic area.
After lunch at 2:00 pm you will depart the sanctuary back to Diani beach which is approximately 4 hours. This will make your safari come to the end. This safari offers you a unique opportunity to explore the Taita Hills wildlife sanctuary, known for its diverse wildlife and stunning scenery.
