5 days Bwindi gorilla safari : 5 days Bwindi gorilla safari is a trip to some of Uganda’s famous attractions in the western part of the country which includes the home of the endangered gorillas which is Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and also a trip to one of the oldest national parks in Uganda which is Queen Elizabeth national park as seen in the itinerary below;

- Day 1; pick up and transfer to Bwindi national park
- Day 2; gorilla habituation

Detailed itinerary
Day 1; pick up and transfer to Bwindi national park
- pick up and transfer to Bwindi: You will be picked up from the airport by your guide who will welcome you and brief you about your safari. After your briefing, you will be driven through Kampala city as you continue your journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will have a stop at the equator where you will enjoy photography moments and also visit the craft shops and also enjoy your lunch after which you will continue your journey to Bwindi national park where you will check in at your lodge as you prepare to have your dinner and to spend the night at Ichumbi gorilla lodge.
Day 2; gorilla habituation
- gorilla habituation: Breakfast will be served early in the morning on the second day of your safari as you prepare to spend time with the gorillas during your gorilla habituation activity. You will proceed to the park headquarters with your packed lunches for a briefing about your gorilla habituation activity before you proceed into the Bwindi forest. During the gorilla habituation activity, you will spend time with the habituated gorillas in their natural habitat as you are accompanied by ranger guides. You will also engage in photography as you capture moments with these gorillas and also get to study their behavior. After this experience, you will return to your lodge for your dinner and to spend the night as the day before at Ichumbi gorilla lodge.
Day 3; gorilla trekking
- gorilla trekking: Another adventure with the gorillas awaits you and you will start your day with breakfast at your lodge ahead of your drive to the park headquarters to start your gorillas trekking activity. You will start your gorilla trekking activity with a briefing by the park officials before continuing into Bwindi forest following different trails in search of the gorillas. You will also see a variety of bird species during your gorilla trekking activity as well as other primates which live in Bwindi forest such as black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys among others. You will return to your lodge for a late lunch after your gorilla trekking activity and later in the evening you will have a community tour to the batwa community to interact with the locals and to get to know their way of life and engage in a number of activities such as watching traditional dance performances, listening to folk stories as well as the life of these forest dwellers. You will return to your lodge where you will have your dinner and also spend the night at Ichumbi gorilla lodge.
Day 4; transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and evening game drive
- transfer to Queen: You will have breakfast at your lodge in Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and then check out of your lodge. You will continue your drive to Queen Elizabeth national park via the ishasha sector. As you drive via ishasha sector, you will see the tree climbing lions as they relax in the tree branches.
- evening game drive: You will continue to your lodge where you will check in, have your lunch and also relax in the comfort of your lodge. Later in the evening, you will have an evening game drive during which you will see a variety of wildlife species in the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth national park such as buffalos, antelopes, elephants, waterbucks, zebras, lions among others and the beautiful evening sunset. You will continue your drive back to your lodge where your dinner will be served and you will spend the night at Pumba cottages.
Day 5; morning game drive and drive to Entebbe
- morning game drive and drive to Entebbe: You will have breakfast at your lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park before checking out of the lodge. After checking out of the lodge, you will have a morning game drive during which you will see a variety of wildlife species that are very active during the morning. You will continue your journey back to Entebbe after your game drive with a stop in Mbarara for lunch and then continue to Entebbe where your guide will drop you off at your preferred location which will mark the end of your safari.
