5 Days Gorillas and Chimpanzee Tracking safari
5 days gorillas and chimpanzee tracking safari is a Rwanda primate safari on which you will enjoy exciting and thrilling primate safari experiences including mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park and Chimpanzee tracking experience in Nyungwe Forest national park. This safari is of 5 days and 4 nights of exploring two Rwanda primates destinations, its starts from Kigali city and it ends there to.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
On your arrival in Kigali city using Kigali International airport you will be picked up by your safari driver-guide and after a warm welcome you will drive to your hotel, if you have time you will go for a city tour exploring the cleanliest city on the African continent. Then return to your hotel, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park.
after early breakfast you will checkout of your hotel and embark on a drive to Nyungwe Forest national park a home to chimpanzees and other primate species, on your way you will enjoy amazing sceneries and be able to capture some good photos. On your way you will have stopovers at Butare National Museum in Nyanza (Rukali), Malaba Coffee Factory to witness the making of coffee and for lunch. You are to arrive in the park in evening, check into your lodge then go for a forest walk in Nyungwe forest watching many birds and different bird species. In the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Canopy walk
wake up early for breakfast and head to Nyungwe Forest for a chimpanzee tracking experience, you will go through briefing at the park’s headquarters then head into the forests looking for chimpanzees with a help of rangers who know better where to find the chimpanzees. As you hike through the verdant forests of Nyungwe you will be able to watch other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons and many birds. When you find the chimpanzees you will enjoy observing their behavior as they are playing on tree branches, pick fruits and take care of their young ones.
You are to stay in the presence of the chimpanzee for 1 hours and taking pictures is allowed, then you will head back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch you will return to Nyungwe forests for a canopy walk, canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest national park is done on a metallic canopy suspended above the forest canopy and on this walk you will watch many birds and primates such white and black colobus monkeys, baboons, mangabeys and the surrounding area. In evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Transfer from Nyungwe to Volcanoes National park.
have early breakfast at your lodge, you will checkout and embark on a journey to Volcanoes national park a famous habitat for mountain gorillas and on your way you will enjoy great views of Lake Kivu, on your way you will have lunch and when you arrive in the park you will for a community walk visiting the locals. While on this experience you will enjoy interacting with the locals, taste local meals, be entertained by local dances and drama and many more. Then head to your lodge, check in and stay overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking adventure and transfer back to Kigali.
Have early breakfast then proceed to the park’s headquarters for a briefing session about mountain gorilla trekking experience which is conducted by a head ranger, be assigned a mountain gorilla group to trek then trek into the thick forests of Volcanoes looking for mountain gorillas.
While trekking through the forests you will have an opportunity to encounter many species of primates and birds living in the forests of the park, when you encounter the gentle giants you will enjoy observing their daily routine activities for example watching the mothers caring and feeding for their young ones, gorillas playing on tree tops for one hour and get to take beautiful pictures as long as your flash light is off. After the trekking you will head back to the park’s headquarters to pick your mountain gorilla trekking permits, head to your lodge for lunch then checkout and embark on a journey back to Kigali. In Kigali you will be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport for your flight back home.
