Detailed itinerary of 7 days Kenya Big Five safari
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Samburu national park
After morning breakfast, you will meet your safari driver and depart for Samburu national park, on your drive you will pass through the equator and on your way you will have en-route lunch. Upon your arrival in the park you will check into your lodge, rest for a while and in then go for a late afternoon game drive for viewing of many animals such as lions, giraffes, leopards, Grevy’s zebras and many more. After the experience you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: full day in Samburu national park
After morning breakfast you will head to the park for a morning game drive, Samburu national park comprises of magnificent scenic views and host many animals which you will enjoy seeing on a game drive. These animals include Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, beisa Oryx, lions, leopards, cheetahs and many more. At lunch you will head back to lodge and in the late afternoon, you will return for another game drive giving you, more ample time to explore the park. You will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Transfer from Samburu national park to Lake Nakuru national park
After morning breakfast at your lodge, you will checkout and embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru national park passing through the rift valley floor, on your way you will have a brief stopover at Nyahururu Thomson falls and you will also have en-route lunch. When you arrive in the park you will have lunch after checking into your lodge then head for a game drive in the plains of Lake Nakuru national park. On the game drive lookout for animals like Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, water buck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many more. You will also enjoy viewing thousands of flamingoes when you visit Lake Nakuru, in the evening you will head back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 4: Transfer from Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara national reserve
After morning breakfast at your lodge, you will check out and head on an en-route game drive while exiting Lake Nakuru national park heading to Masai Mara national reserve, your journey to Masai mara national reserve passes through the rift valley where you will enjoy amazing views of the escarpments. When you arrive in the reserve you will check into your lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a game drive for viewing animals like lions, zebras, giraffes and many more. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.
Day 5 and 6: full day in Masai Mara
Day 5 and 6 you are to spend full days exploring Masai mara national reserve, after morning breakfast at your lodge you will head to the reserve for the adventurous game viewing experience on which you will have an opportunity to watch many animals living in the endless plains of Masai Mara national reserve. On the game drive expect to see the big five that are lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, rhinos and many other animals such as zebras, wildebeests, hartebeests and many more. At lunch time you have an option of either driving back to your lodge for lunch or have picnic lunch which requires you to carry your packed lunch. After the lunch you will embark on another game drive visiting more regions of Masai Mara national reserve. In the evening you will have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 7: return to Nairobi
After morning breakfast at your lodge you will checkout and exit Maasai Mara national reserve embarking on a drive back to Nairobi, on your way you will have en-route lunch and when you arrive in Nairobi you will be dropped off at the airport for your departure flight back home.
