Camel’s Gate Lodge
Camel’s Gate Lodge is mid-range accommodations found in central Kenya, Samburu county in Archer’s post just 10 minutes to samburu national park. The lodge is situated in a quiet areas a few 100 meters from the Great North Road that connects kenya and Ethiopia . One can be at the lodge by road transport which takes approximately 5-6 hours drive from Nairobi to the park and air transport it takes an hour flying from Nairobi to the close kalama or Oryx airstrip then 30 minutes’ drive to be transferred to the lodge . The camp is convenient and affordable to guests visiting the camp with its spectacular views stretching across the wilderness, wildlife especially elephants visiting the camp and surrounding areas,
Camel’s gate lodge consists of 20 spacious and comfortable rooms which reflects the local traditional building style with modern comfort , Each room has a mosquito nets, flat screen TVS, satelites, Air conditioning , hair driers , private balconies, sitting areas and verandas ,you relax while enjoying the stunning view of the wildlife visiting the camp and surrounding areas. Rooms are well decorated and furnished with facilities like clean flushing toilet, showers with hot and cold running water.
Rooms are equipped with excellent and comfortable beddings with queen sized bed and wooden ceiling fans .There are fireplaces at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors during nights. Rooms are in different categories and sizes depending single, double, twin and triple/ family tents and rooms cost 200$ per night and above (note that high season rate is different to low season rate)

Samburu national park is among the less-known parks and the smallest park found in the northern part near Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya in Samburu country .The park occupies the total area of 165 square kilometers and 345 km from Nairobi. Samburu country is found in the former rift valley of Kenya.
The park is the home of various animals over 200 mammals like; Giraffes, Buffaloes , Elephants , Big cats, leopards, lions , zebras Warthogs , olive baboons etc and 390 species of birds which include; Sun birds , bee –eaters , sunbirds, Tawny Eagles , Grey headed kingfisher , Yellow-billed hornbill and many more birds. Samburu are sub tribe of the masaai , they are Nilotic people of North –central Kenya. They are semi-nomadic pastoralists with herds of cattle, goat, sheep and camel.
