KULALU CAMP – TSAVO NATIONAL PARK

Kulalu camp is referred to as a budget accommodation found on the banks of Galana river and Kulalu Conservancy  in Tsavo East National Park in Kenya.  It is situated  on the edge of the park , 110km from the west of  indian ocean in the coastal towns of Malindi and watamu  on the park boundary along Voi river. The camp is convenient and affordable to guests  who want to explore  Tsavo East National park with the stunning views over Galana river , wildlife and surrounding areas.  You can be at the camp  from Nairobi city center in about 4- 5 hours drive  , Then from Malindi its  98 Km , Nairobi –Malindi  its cut by over 100km and 160 Km from Mombasa .

Kulalu camp consists of 5  spacious and comfortable en-suite tents with the view of River Galana of which one is a family twin tent consisting of a double bed and 2 single beds in each room for a perfect family  ,also  a double room and 3 twins , built in African traditional style with grass thatched roofs . Each  Room is  furnished with en-suite facilities like Flushing Toilets, batherooms with hot showers, beds wrapped with Mosquito nets, tables , wooden  chairs , solar energy available, free bottled water and many more facilities.

Tents have sitting areas, verandas, and wooden balconies overlooking the great views of the river, wildlife and surrounding areas.   Rooms are well equipped with comfortable beds containing queen sized beds.  There are campfires that provide warmth to visitors in cold days and in darkness . Rooms are in different categories and sizes as mentioned above; singles, doubles, twins, family  with different costs ranging from 100$ per night and above. The rate keeps changing as they go high during peak season than in low season.

Tsavo national park is made of two separate parks located in Kenya Province between Nairobi city and Mombasa, The Park is considered to be among the largest parks in Kenya covering the total area of 22,000km squared.  The two different parks in Tsavo national park include; Tsavo east national park which is the oldest and largest park in Kenya found in the semi-arid areas of Taru desert occupying the total area of 13,747 kilometers squared and Tsavo west national park also covers the total area of 9,065 kilometers squared.

The Two park are most visited with different categories of accommodations; Budget, Mid- range and Luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to visitors visiting the park.  Tsavo national park has a variety of wildlife like; Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Buffaloes, Zebras , Leopards, Giraffes , Cheetahs,  Lions Etc and over 500 species of birds like; ostriches, starling , weaver birds, Kingfishers, hornbills etc.
