4 days Tsavo West safari is a short Kenya safari package offering a visit to Tsavo West national park one of the great wildlife habitats in Kenya and one of the national parks forming Tsavo National park the largest protected area in Kenya.
Tsavo West national park is located in the southeastern Kenya and situated a little southeast of the sister Tsavo East national park, the park covers an area of 3,500 square miles thus making it smaller than its sister park.
Tsavo West national park is renowned for its abundance and diverse wildlife and is most popular for its stunning landscapes, the park is a home to many animals such as the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), hartebeest, kudu, giraffe, buffalo, hippopotamus, aardwolf, baboon, buffalo, bushbuck, dik-dik, duiker, eland, elephant, gazelle, genet, giraffe, hartebeest, hyrax, impala, klipspringer, kudu, oryx, porcupine, warthog, waterbuck, zebra and many smaller species. Detailed itinerary of 4 Days Tsavo West safari
Day 1: Nairobi-Tsavo West
To start your 4 days Tsavo West safari you will be picked from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi upon arrival or at your hotel in Nairobi, you will be met by our safari driver-guide a representative from Focus East Africa Tours who will give you a short safari briefing.
As early as 0600 hours, early in the morning you will set off on your journey to Tsavo West national park driving along the Mombasa – Nairobi road via Voi Town and use the Tsavo river gate to enter into the park. You are to arrive in the park in time for lunch, on arrival you will have en-route game drive as you head to the lodge for lunch. In afternoon you will head to the park for an afternoon searching and spotting various animals residing the plains of the park such as lions, elephants, cape buffaloes, leopards and rhinos, zebras, gazelles among others. After the sunset you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full day in Tsavo West
Have early – breakfast and head to the park for a full game drive, you will be picked from your lodge as early as 06:00 am or 07:00 am and drive to the park for a full day of exploring on morning and afternoon game drive with picnic lunch. During the game drive you will visit the Mzima Springs where Crystal clear waters emanate from the underground springs originating from the Mount Kilimanjaro. At the Mzima Springs you will be able to see hippos, crocodiles, fish and a variety of bird life.
You will have lunch set in a picnic site in the plains of Tsavo West, in the afternoon you will go on a game drive spotting many animals such as aardwolf, baboon, buffalo, bushbuck, dik-dik, duiker, eland, elephant, gazelle, genet, giraffe, hartebeest, hyrax, impala, klipspringer, kudu, oryx, porcupine, warthog, waterbuck, zebra and many smaller species. Also you will be able to see many bird species such as kingfisher, hornbills, herons, starlings, weavers, buzzards, kestrels, among others. Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: full day in Tsavo West and visit Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary
After breakfast you will head to the park for a full day of exploring, Tsavo West national park and its sparse vegetation makes for a great opportunity to spot some of Africa’s most celebrated animals such as lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and cape buffaloes. Also during the game drive, keep your eyes out for giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and wildebeests and a myriad of bird life.
You will head back to your lodge for lunch and return to the park in afternoon for another game drive visiting the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary where you will come face to face with rhinos. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: TSAVO WEST – NAIROBI
Have morning breakfast, checkout of the lodge and go for en-route game drive as you exit the park. you will drive on Nairobi –Mombasa Highway and when you arrive in Nairobi you will be dropped off either at the airport for your departure flight or at the hotel.
