Gura River Camp is a nature camping ground found in Nyeri on the banks of the Largest river just outside Aberdare National Park Kenya region. It takes approximately a 3-4 hours drive from Nairobi city center to the lodge and 50 minutes flight to the close airstrip then a few minutes to be transferred to the camp. The camp is the perfect base for relaxation and safari adventures for tourists and travelers (Especially camp lovers) who want to explore the Aberdare mountain Ranges and various game reserves around.

Gura River Camp has enough spaces to put up tents (it’s perfect for camp lovers) and enough packing areas overlooking the Aberdare mountain ranges.

 There are hot showers with water heated on the fire, dry bathrooms, and Compost toilets,  running water from the River though not filtered, limited lights, you have to bring lamps and charging devices,  free toiletries, complimentary bottled water, and free parking space available among others.

Gura River Camp has large sitting areas overlooking the stunning view of the Aberdare Mountain Ranges, River, and surrounding area.

 There is a fireplace where guests relax and share stories about the safari as they enjoy warmth during chilly nights.

 A Kitchen Banda with sink, bench, and table; You come with your food and prepare for yourself since it’s a camping ground with no cookers, or cutlery so far. You can have meals overlooking the forest and bush dinners overlooking the stars in the sky.

WIFI  Internet hotspot available at the camp in the reception that enables visitors to keep in touch with their families and friends, especially for important communication

 Activities to do while at the camp include; Game viewing since the park is a habitat for more animals you a chance to spot a wide range of wildebeest, natural walks in the forest, visit the local villages, climbing and hiking mountain ranges, swimming in the river among others.

Aberdare National Park is situated in the North of Nairobi at the southern end of the Aberdare Mountain Ranges, on the Eastern Rim Of the Great Rift Valley between Nyeri and Naivasha. The park is 150km East of Nairobi, 87km from Naivasha in the central highlands of Kenya.  The park covers a total area of 766 square kilometers and forms the part of Aberdare mountain ranges lying between the elevation of 2000 meters and 4000 meters above sea level. The park provides ha bit for different wildlife including; Elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthog,s and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat, and the blue duiker. Visitors can indulge in picnics, trout fishing in the rivers, and camping in the moorlands. Bird viewing is rewarding since it’s the home of over 250 species of birds in the park, including the Jackson’s Francolin, Sparrow hawks, goshawks, eagles, sunbirds, and plovers.” The park has different categories of accommodation that include; Budget, Mid-range/moderate, and luxury accommodations that are convenient and affordable to guests visiting the area.
